Shareholder, Litigation and Transactions
In the summer of 2003, Stephen moved to Palm Desert from the San Francisco Bay Area to work with Mike Rover. They worked together until June 2020 when Mike moved in-house as general counsel for the H.N. & Frances C. Berger Foundation.
Stephen is an attorney with substantial experience in litigation and transactional matters. Stephen began his law career in Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Falk & Rabkin’s litigation department, where he practiced commercial litigation. Later, he expanded his practice to also represent design professionals including architects, engineers, and other construction-related cases during his tenure at a boutique litigation law firm in Walnut Creek.
He has represented large institutional and family businesses in a variety of matters involving complex commercial and business litigation, contract disputes, fraud, unfair business practices, employment. litigation, tort defense, and shareholder disputes. His experience includes all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts, as well as alternative dispute resolutions, with excellent results on behalf of clients. In addition to his litigation background, Stephen handles corporate and entity formation and counsels clients in matters covering trademarks, licensing, and many other business transactions.
During his legal studies, Stephen clerked at law firms in San Francisco and Honolulu. Following an outstanding academic career in both his baccalaureate studies at University of California, Berkeley, and at Hastings College of the Law,
Stephen and his family reside in La Quinta. During his free time, he enjoys working out, hiking, and spending time with his wife and children
