GARRETT A. HECKMAN
Associate Attorney, Litigation and Transactions
Garrett A. Heckman joined Rover Armstrong, APC in January 2018, and has transitioned to the Law Office of Stephen J. Armstrong as an Associate Attorney. Since joining the firm, Garrett has been involved in a wide array of matters, primarily in business litigation, including heading discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and civil trials. In addition to litigation, Garrett represents transactional clients with general business representation, including corporate transactions, business planning, and succession planning. He has also represented clients in tax, international trade unlawful detainer, bankruptcy, and probate matters. Garrett has litigated cases in both federal and state court. He is licensed to practice in both California and Texas.
During law school, Garrett was Vice President of the Estate Planning Society and Outreach Director for the Tax Law Society. He interned with a family law firm in La Jolla and then an estate planning firm in San Diego. During his final semester, he was a certified legal intern with a Palm Desert bankruptcy firm, making his first court appearance in United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. In law school, he received an academic achievement award and was recognized on the Dean’s Honor List.
Garrett was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from San Diego State University with a double major in Linguistics and Political Science and then received his Master’s in Political Science from Louisiana State University. Garrett moved to Palm Desert in 2015 after graduating from California Western School of Law in San Diego.
Garrett currently lives in Palm Desert. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing the guitar, and cheering for Dallas sports teams.
